The chromosomal genome sequence of the marine sponge Diacarnus erythraeanus Kelly-Borges & Vacelet, 1995, and its associated microbial metagenome sequences
(sponge; Porifera; Demospongiae; Poecilosclerida; Podospongiidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 140.86 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.57%) is scaffolded into 18 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 19.34 kilobases in length. Sixty-four binned genomes were generated from the metagenome assembly, of which 46 were classified as high-quality metagenome assembled genomes (MAGs). The microbial signature is typical of HMA sponges, including the Pseudomonadota, Chloroflexota and Acidobacteriota as dominant phyla and several candidate phyla (Poribacteria, Binatota, Latescibacterota) as well as the archaeal clade Nitrosopumilaceae in lower abundance.
