Assessment of Bovine Herpesvirus Type 1 (BoHV-1) Stability and Infectivity on Copper, Zinc, and Stainless Steel Surfaces
, while zinc and stainless steel showed minimal impact. Under dry conditions, copper reduced viral titres to the limit of detection after 24 h. Half-life analysis confirmed rapid inactivation on copper, with the shortest persistence observed across all conditions. Zinc showed moderate virucidal activity but required longer exposure times. These findings highlight copper's superior antiviral properties and suggest its potential application in reducing viral transmission on surfaces.
