Bioinspired Gradient Minimal Surface Structural Materials via Vat Photopolymerization Towards Efficient Impact Resistance (Adv. Funct. Mater. 30/2026)
Biomimetic Structure Design In their Research Article (10.1002/adfm.202530573), Liping Gong, Shuai Liu, and co-workers report a synergistic strategy for high-performance impact-resistant mechanical metamaterials. By integrating a molecularly toughened hybrid polyurethane acrylate (HPUA) resin with a bioinspired gradient TPMS architecture, the structure achieves enhanced energy dissipation and stress redistribution, outperforming conventional lattice designs. This multiscale strategy offers promising potential for next-generation protective systems in aerospace and personal safety applications.
