Emergency Communication System for Tunnel Workers

This paper presents a safety-oriented system developed to protect tunnel workers operating in risky underground conditions. The system focuses on continuously observing environmental factors such as gas concentration, temperature, and humidity to identify unsafe situations at an early stage. Whenever abnormal conditions are noticed, warning signals are generated instantly so that workers can respond without delay. The system also supports dependable communication between underground locations and surface monitoring units. This ensures that important information is delivered even in areas where normal communication networks are not available. Real-time updates allow supervisors to stay informed about tunnel conditions and take necessary action during emergencies. In addition, the collected data can be stored and reviewed later to improve safety planning and risk management. The proposed approach helps in reducing response time, improving awareness, and lowering the chances of accidents in tunnel environments. It is designed to be economical, adaptable, and suitable for different underground applications. Overall, the system contributes to better worker protection and more effective emergency handling.
