Coherent manipulation of birefringent superluminal bright solitons in a chiral medium

The superluminal solitonic propagation behavior of left- and right-circularly polarized (LCP/RCP) light beams is investigated in a chiral medium. RCP and LCP beam absorption exhibits super-Gaussian-type peak behavior with spatial coordinate fluctuation around the origin. The RCP beam’s subluminal phase velocity is <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>v</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>p</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> <mml:mo>/</mml:mo> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>n</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>r</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo>+</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> </mml:math> , and its refractive index is 5.47.
