Advances in kappa deformed electrodynamics

The so called [Formula: see text]-Minkowski spacetime is a prominent candidate for a quantum gravity space, and its properties have been the subject of investigation over the last thirty years. In this work, we propose classical electrodynamics equations that satisfy the dispersion relation derived from the bicrossproduct approach to the [Formula: see text]-Poincaré algebra. We explore the conservation laws, a new gauge symmetry, and the solutions for the scalar and vector potentials under the influence of the deformed parameter. The characteristics of the vacuum as a material medium are shown in terms of the refractive index and the group and phase velocities. The Green’s functions associated with the wave operator in the bicrossproduct basis are calculated in both the retarded and advanced prescriptions. Finally, we discuss how the deformation scale affects the causality of the theory.
