Applying Computational Intelligence in medical forensics

The digitization of medical forensics varies between countries, reflecting the distinctions in their respective legal systems and procedures. In several cases, State Forensic Services (SFS) lack advanced computational systems to support their forensic practices. Recent advancements in technology offer the encapsulation of sophisticated and intelligent methods into large-scale, end-to-end information systems. This work identifies the scientific gap from the absence of an intelligent information system to support Medical Forensics using Artificial Intelligence - AI. We propose a research system that covers the complete lifecycle of the SFS processes enhanced by AI to facilitate seamless retrieval and extraction of observation data, as well as the summarization and compilation of forensic reports. The system utilizes Speech Recognition and Generative AI into a distributed Web, Mobile and Cloud edge system. Results from this research demonstrate the applicability of AI in the Medical Forensics via an AI-enabled system, aiming towards forensic procedure optimization and general justice delivery acceleration.
