2025 Rsearch Trends in CFD Research

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has become a practical numerical tool for analyzing complex flow and heat-transfer phenomena and for supporting engineering applications. By providing detailed predictions of transport processes, CFD enables engineers to evaluate design alternatives and operating conditions while reducing dependence on extensive prototyping and repeated experiments. This study reviews CFD research published by the Korean Society of Fluid Machinery in 2025, focusing on exhaust-gas treatment in semiconductor scrubber systems, cavitation characteristics in a U-shaped ultrasonic flow meter under varying flow conditions, and mixing enhancement in an elbow pipe using an optimized swirl generator. These works highlight the expanding role of CFD in industrial process equipment, multiphase-flow analysis, and optimization-based design strategies.
