THREE MOVES: What leaders can do this quarter to make decisions that hold
This paper is a companion to When Decisions Don't Hold (Morgan, 2026d) and extends its argument into action. Where that paper names the condition — organizations moving faster than they can make meaning from what they know — this one asks what to do about it. Three structural moves are specified: the integration check, the reconstitution test, and the interpretation meeting. Each targets a specific point in the decision cycle where meaning either forms or fails to form. None requires restructuring, budget, or permission from above. All three can be implemented this quarter. Keywords: Making meaning; metabolization capacity; premature closure; closure reflex; post-heroic leadership; integration check; reconstitution test; interpretation meeting; organizational sensemaking; meaning-making leadership; AI governance; human in the loop; high reliability organizations
