Algorithmic Management and Employee Silence: Examining Psychological Expression in Digitally Controlled Workplaces.

The rapid adoption of digital technologies and artificial intelligence has transformed traditional managerial practices, leading to the emergence of algorithmic management in many organizations. Algorithmic management involves the use of automated systems and data-driven algorithms to monitor employee performance, allocate tasks, and guide managerial decisions. While these technologies improve operational efficiency, they may also influence employees’ psychological experiences and communication behaviors within the workplace. This study examines the relationship between algorithmic management and employee silence, with particular attention to the role of psychological expression in digitally controlled workplaces. Using a quantitative research design, data will be collected from employees working in organizations that utilize algorithm-driven monitoring systems. The study proposes that algorithmic management may reduce employees’ psychological expression and increase the likelihood of employee silence. By exploring these relationships, the research contributes to the growing literature on digital workplace management and organizational communication. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for organizations seeking to implement technology-enabled management systems while maintaining open communication and employee engagement.
