The Effectiveness of Fu’s Subcutaneous Needling for Residual Pain After Percutaneous Vertebral Augmentation in Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures: A Randomized Clinical Trial Protocol [Letter]
We read with great interest the protocol by Wang et al, 1 which evaluates Fu's subcutaneous needling (FSN) for residual pain following percutaneous vertebral augmentation (PVA) in osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs).This study addresses an important and clinically relevant issue, as residual back pain remains a common challenge even after technically successful vertebral augmentation. 2Notably, the integration of clinical outcomes with mechanistic indicators (eg, inflammatory markers and infrared thermography) represents a valuable step toward more mechanisminformed pain management.
