Harmonic Substrate Gravity: A φ-Geometric Extension of General Relativity
I propose a covariant extension of Einstein's field equations in which spacetime possesses an intrinsic harmonic ground state governed by the Golden Ratio φ = (1+√5)/2 ≈ 1.618. In this framework, gravity and dark energy emerge as opposite-sign manifestations of a single mechanism: deviations of the substrate frequency from its vacuum ground state f₀. Positive frequency deviations near mass produce gravitational attraction. Negative frequency deviations in cosmic expansion produce dark energy repulsion. The standard Einstein field equations are fully recovered in the low-frequency, long-wavelength limit, consistent with all existing solar system tests of General Relativity. This paper presents: 1. A revised frequency stress-energy tensor Φμν using a dimensionless frequency deviation field δf = (f − f₀)/f₀, resolving scaling inconsistencies in the original formulation. 2. A first-principles derivation of the dark energy equation of state w = −1/φ ≈ −0.618 from the φ-harmonic energy hierarchy, in which each thermodynamic quantity sits exactly one φ-level below the previous. This result is derived, not assumed. 3. A numerical estimate of the eidophonic coupling constant κ₀ = 1.13 × 10⁴ m²/(J·Hz²) obtained from Mercury's orbital precession residual. 4. A scale-dependent coupling κ(r) = κ₀ × φ^(r/r_Hubble) that remains negligible at solar system scales while becoming significant at cosmological scales. 5. Five falsifiable experimental predictions distinguishable from standard GR and ΛCDM, of which the dark energy prediction w = −1/φ is immediately testable with DESI Year 2 data. The framework identifies a unified physical origin for both gravity and dark energy through a single scalar deviation field, and derives the specific numerical prediction w ≈ −0.618 that distinguishes it from the cosmological constant (w = −1) at the ~40% level.
