Investigation on Optical, Fluorescence, and Thermal Properties of Benzyltriethylammonium Cadmium (II) Bromide Single Crystal for Optical Applications

The slow evaporation solution technique was utilized to create a single crystal of benzyltriethylammonium cadmium (II) bromide (BTEACB). Numerous characterizations, such as a single crystal X‐ray diffraction examination, verified that the produced crystal was a member of the centrosymmetric space group P21/c and had a monoclinic structure. Utilizing the UV–vis–NIR spectrometer study, the transmittance was found, and the bandgap energy values of 4.43 eV were ascertained using the tauc plot. An indicator of the crystal far‐red or near‐infrared emissions’ wavelength of 744 nm is finding from the fluorescence studies. The BTEACB crystal functional groups were detected through fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The generated crystal thermal steadiness has been investigated using thermogravimetric‐differential scanning calorimetry studies. Using 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance and 13 C NMR, spectroscopic analysis was utilized to investigate a structure and chemical properties of the generated BTEACB single crystal. Hence, the crystal is suggested for optical applications up to this melting point at 348°C.
