IMPACT OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY ON TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESSES IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The integration of educational technology (EdTech) into higher education has fundamentally transformed traditional pedagogical paradigms worldwide. This study investigates the impact of EdTech tools including Learning Management Systems (LMS), AI-enabled adaptive platforms, mobile learning applications, and virtual classrooms on teaching-learning processes in higher education institutions. Two hypotheses were tested: H₁ posits that educational technology significantly enhances student engagement and academic performance; H₂ posits that faculty adoption of EdTech positively and significantly influences teaching effectiveness. A descriptive-quantitative research design was employed, utilizing secondary data from peer-reviewed Google Scholar-indexed studies and verified institutional databases covering 2019–2025. Statistical hypothesis testing was conducted using chi-square (χ²) analysis at significance level α = 0.05. Results confirm both hypotheses: H₁ (χ² = 6.798, p < 0.05) and H₂ (χ² = 45.466, p < 0.05), with both null hypotheses rejected. LMS usage improved learning outcomes by 10–20%, AI tools boosted performance by 25%, and 65% of faculty reported improved teaching effectiveness. The study concludes that strategic, infrastructure-backed EdTech integration yields substantial pedagogical gains, with critical implications for higher education systems in India.
