Abstract

We compute the complex, long-distance two-photon-exchange amplitude which contributes to the rare <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <a:msub> <a:mi>K</a:mi> <a:mi mathvariant="normal">L</a:mi> </a:msub> <a:mo stretchy="false">→</a:mo> <a:msup> <a:mi>μ</a:mi> <a:mo>+</a:mo> </a:msup> <a:msup> <a:mi>μ</a:mi> <a:mo>−</a:mo> </a:msup> </a:math> decay from lattice QCD. Our implementation strategies for all five non-SU(3)-flavor-suppressed diagram topologies are given in detail. We achieve a 25% statistical precision on the dispersive part of this long-distance amplitude.
