Comparison of BD MAX and GeneXpert for rapid detection of tuberculosis and rifampin–isoniazid resistance
Evaluated in 87 respiratory specimens, BD MAX showed 100% sensitivity and 90.3% specificity in AFS-positive samples (n = 56). In 31 AFS-negative/Xpert Ultra-positive cases, it detected 25 of 29 culture-positive cases. Among these respiratory specimens, BD MAX correctly identified isoniazid resistance in all six HR-TB cases.
