Selective Electrochemical Synthesis of the para, para C–C Dimer from Diphenylphenol and Its Conversion into Dibenzofuran
carbon-carbon dimer tetraphenyl dibenzoquinone from diphenylphenol is reported under electrochemical conditions and variable potential. The dibenzoquinone dimer was converted into its reduced state and dibenzofurans, at room temperature, a process that was controlled by electricity and light.
