Engineering Factors Of Circular Saw Affecting Power Consumption At Trim Palm Tree Fronds

Mechanizing palm tree service operations is an important requirement. Given the importance of palm tree trimming, despite its difficulty, providing the appropriate equipment to complete this process makes it easier to perform. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanical response to the cutting force of a circular saw, aiming to refine the cutting process of palm-tree fronds and enhance its operational efficiency in real-world applications. Then, infer the fit models at specific parameter values as independent variables. To evaluate the cutting operation, two stages were conducted. First, the main dimensions of the frond were measured. Second, mechanical measurements affected the study variables identified as cutting time, specific cutting time, cutting force, and consumed power. The results conclude that the frond width, thickness, cross-sectional area, and moisture content were ranged from 39 to 76 mm, 26 to 35 mm, 828 to 1490 mm², and 51.48 to 72.39 % respectively, at all levels of frond -cutting span. Moreover, the conclusion of mechanical evaluations is the optimum combination at an entrance angle of 10.0, adjusted feed rate of 9.0 mm/s, saw rotational speed of 5000 rpm, and frond cutting span 10.0 cm that gets 3.28 sec cutting time, 0.441 min/cm2 specific cutting time, 11.48 N cutting force, and 420.75 W consumed power. At these variables the mathematical models were decided.
