Navigation Without Drift: A Minimal Model
Rhythm provides direction. Hold provides trajectory. Navigation emerges from their product: Navigation = Rhythm × Hold. If either factor is zero, navigation collapses. The medium is given. Movement is not. Freedom does not arise from choosing the medium, but from acting after recognition. This conceptual note extends the pacing constraint formalized in the AGI–Human Validation Architecture (ORIGÓ License v2.0.0, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19322496). In that framework, the gap between formal and effective correctability is structurally irreducible. The Rhythm × Hold product does not close this gap — it makes it navigable. Drift is not a logical failure; it is a structural absence. An AGI oversight system without rhythm loses direction; without hold, it loses trajectory. Both must be non-zero for navigation to exist. The agent — human or artificial — does not choose the medium. What remains is the act that follows recognition.
