Patellar Tendon Rupture Repair Using Peroneus Longus Graft Following Total Knee Arthroplasty in a High Body Mass Index Morbidly Obese Patient: Case Report
Patellar tendon rupture is a rare but challenging complication of total knee arthroplasty (TKA), particularly in patients with a high body mass index (BMI).Repair is further complicated by poor tissue quality, altered biomechanics, and the risk of compromising the prosthetic components. This case report describes the successful management of an acute patellar tendon rupture in a high BMI patient using a peroneus longus tendon graft. The report highlights the surgical technique, postoperative rehabilitation, and outcomes, emphasizing the complexities and solutions involved in this unique scenario.
