The genome sequence of the long-legged fly, Sciapus platypterus (Fabricius, 1805) (Diptera: Dolichopodidae)
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns3:italic>Sciapus platypterus</ns3:italic> (long-legged fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Dolichopodidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 1 000.09 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.16%) is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.64 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
