After publication, concerns have been raised by a third party in 2025 regarding the integrity of the data in Figure 2 of the article. Further investigations conducted by the Journal and Publisher confirmed unexpected similarities between the duplicate image panels representative of different treatment conditions present in Figure 2 of the article. Additional integrity concerns were identified in the image panels representative of different treatment conditions present in Figure 4 of the article; unexpected similarities were identified between the Western blot bands shown in Figure 5 of the article. When approached for an explanation, the authors have provided their original data for Figures 2 and 4. However, due to the time that has elapsed since the experiments were conducted, the raw Western blot data for Figure 5 is unavailable, and as a result, these concerns cannot be addressed As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are retracting the article.
