Case Presentation: Drug-Induced Acute Pancreatitis Following Pylera Therapy in a Young Male
Acute pancreatitis is an inflammatory condition of the pancreas that can arise from a variety of causes, including gallstones, alcohol use, hypertriglyceridemia, and drug use. Drug-induced acute pancreatitis is relatively rare but should be considered when the temporal relationship between medication use and the onset of symptoms is evident. Here, we present a case of drug-induced acute pancreatitis in a young white male following the initiation of Pylera, an anti-H. pylori therapy. • Rare presentation of drug-induced acute pancreatitis in a young patient • Diagnosis confirmed after the exclusion of common etiologies • Rapid recovery after discontinuation of the offending drug • Importance of medication review in acute pancreatitis
