Comparative Efficiency of the Avalanche-Transit Acoustic Diode for Radio Wave Generation Compared to Traditional Avalanche-Transit Diodes

Avalanche-transit diodes (LADs) are important elements in the field of radio wave and high-frequency signal generation. Traditional LADs rely on avalanche multiplication, which is achieved through a strong electric field that causes high-speed carrier motion. However, this process is accompanied by overheating and limited generation at high carrier densities. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in new types of generators that use acoustic waves to control carrier motion. One such device is the avalanche-transit acoustic diode, in which a phonon laser is used to create asymmetric conductivity and directed electron motion. This opens up new possibilities for generating radio waves with lower carrier densities and more stable device operation. The aim of this paper is to compare the efficiency of the acoustic diode with traditional avalanche-transit diodes and assess its potential for radio wave generation.
