CPU-Aware Automatic Materialized View Refresh
We present a CPU-aware automatic materialized view refresh system that monitors system resources in real-time and adaptively throttles refresh operations to prevent production workload impact. Our system combines staleness-based triggering, configurable CPU limits, and graceful degradation under load to maintain view freshness while respecting resource constraints. This approach addresses a widely recognized pain point in database systems where materialized view refreshes consume unbounded CPU and impact application performance.
