Nous: A Proposed Extension of the Standard Model — Towards a Field Theory of Intentional Information

Description:This preprint presents a theoretical framework proposing an extension of the Standard Model Lagrangian through the addition of a new term — the Nous field W_\mu(\rho) — defined as a Lorentz covariant vector field acting on the boundary of a quantum volume, weighted by the gradient of Von Neumann entropy. The framework addresses three open questions: the arrow of order against thermodynamic entropy, the nature of dark matter, and the origin of spontaneous symmetry breaking. Extensions of the Schwarzschild metric, Bekenstein–Hawking entropy, and Einstein's field equations are proposed.Six experimental anomalies are discussed as candidate signatures of the field, including the muon g-2 deviation, the Hubble tension, and magic-angle graphene superconductivity. A resonance mass m_W = 42 keV and coherence length \xi = 4.7 pm are identified as preliminary experimental constraints.A structural connection with the Riemann zeta function is established: the ground state of the Nous field corresponds to the critical line \sigma = 1/2, linking this framework to the companion preprint on the Riemann Hypothesis (doi:10.5281/zenodo.19230304).This is a theoretical proposal open to collaboration, critique, and formal development.Type: PreprintLicense: CC BY 4.0Keywords: Nous field, fifth force, quantum information, Standard Model extension, dark matter, Von Neumann entropy, Riemann zeta function, magic-angle graphene
