Progress in Catalytic Metal-Zeolite composites for VOCs Abatement: A Comprehensive Review
Amid the current environmental context, as the issue of VOCs control becomes increasingly severe, catalytic oxidation technology has emerged as a hot research direction in the industry. Meanwhile, research on composite multifunctional materials is on the rise, with metal-zeolite composites, as a novel type of multifunctional material, receiving widespread attention. This review systematically summarizes the roles and research progress of zeolites and their metal-loaded derivatives in VOCs purification, focusing on their applications as adsorbents, catalytic oxidation catalysts, and adsorption-catalytic oxidation multifunctional materials in processes such as adsorption, catalytic oxidation, and in-situ coupled adsorption-catalytic oxidation. It reviews the latest advancements in zeolite-based VOCs purification technologies, analyzes the bottlenecks and challenges they face, and proposes future research directions, aiming to provide insights for researchers in related fields. Metal-zeolite composites integrate adsorption and catalysis for VOCs purification. Their ordered pores capture pollutants, while active metal sites enable efficient oxidation and in-situ regeneration, offering a versatile solution for complex emissions. • The roles and research progress of molecular sieves and their metal-supported derivatives in VOCs purification are systematically summarized. • Molecular sieve as adsorbents, catalysts, and multifunctional materials in oxidation are highlighted. • The latest advancements in molecular sieve-based VOCs purification technologies are synthesized. • Bottlenecks and challenges in molecular sieve-based VOCs purification are analyzed, and future research directions are proposed.
