Hastane Öncesi Acil Sağlık Hizmetleri Çalışanlarının Dijital Okuryazarlık Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi: Kırşehir İli Örneği

The aim of this study is to determine the digital literacy levels of pre-hospital emergency health services personnel working in Kırşehir province and to identify potential areas for improvement. The study examined whether digital literacy differs according to demographic variables such as age, gender, education level, occupational group, and place of duty, as well as its relationship with the effective use of digital technologies. In addition, the impact of education and experience in digital health technologies on digital literacy was evaluated. A descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was employed, and 170 personnel working in 112 emergency health services units affiliated with the Kırşehir Provincial Ambulance Service Directorate were reached through convenience sampling. Findings revealed that participants’ digital literacy levels were above average. A significant difference was observed in favor of men only in the attitude sub-dimension by gender. Age was more influential; scores were highest among participants aged 25–31, while a decline was noted in those aged 32 and above. Although master’s degree graduates had higher scores, the difference was not statistically significant. Paramedics scored higher in the cognitive sub-dimension, and those working in districts had higher technical and cognitive scores than those in the city center. In conclusion, digital literacy was found to be affected not only by demographic variables but also by environmental factors and working conditions.
