Analysis of viscosity variation and couple stress fluid based squeezed film lubrication between porous circular plates considering effect of slip velocity

Based on Barus’s experiments and the Morgan and Cameron method, a mathematical model is examined to comprehend how couple stress features in non-Newtonian fluids and piezo-viscous behavior impact the lubrication of porous circular plates while accounting for slip velocity. The results for particular parameter settings are shown graphically. According to the results, permeability tends to decrease pressure, load-bearing capacity, and lubrication film duration, whereas pressure-influenced viscosity considerably increases load-bearing capacity and extends squeeze film length. The current results align with the earlier studies. The results indicate that, adding couple stress effects increase the load-carrying ability by about 8% to 10%. Additionally, there is a noticeable increase in the squeeze film reaction time, which suggests improved lubrication performance.
