Development and physical characterization of a biodegradable scaffold with growth factors and nanoparticles

Objective: This study aimed to develop and characterize a nanoparticle-incorporated autologous platelet scaffold with antimicrobial potential for regenerative applications. Methods: Concentrated growth factor scaffolds were analyzed for growth factor release, antimicrobial activity, cytotoxicity, and biocompatibility. Silver nanoparticles were incorporated and evaluated against oral pathogens. Results: Growth factor release was sustained, antimicrobial activity was significant at safe concentrations, and cytotoxicity testing confirmed favorable biocompatibility at optimal nanoparticle concentrations. Conclusion: The developed scaffold demonstrates strong regenerative and antimicrobial potential for future clinical applications.
