SUPPLEMENTING ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF BASIC GRADERS THROUGH PARENTAL PARTICIPATION: A PROPORTIONAL ASSESSMENT ON STUDY HABITS

This study examined the relationship between parental participation and the study habits of Grade 7 learners in selected schools in the City of Naga and Cebu Province for School Year 2024–2025. Results showed that parental guidance at home and effective communication with teachers positively influence learners’ study habits and academic behavior, while mere attendance at school activities is insufficient. A significant correlation was found between the extent of parental involvement and students’ study habits, highlighting that the form and quality of participation are crucial. The study recommends implementing Proportional Assessment on Study Habits to improve learners’ reading skills and academic outcomes.
