Interchurch Pilgrims on the Synodal Path

The Catholic Church’s Synod on Synodality (2021-24) has been a major ecclesial event and has several important ecumenical dimensions. This article explores the significance of the synod for interchurch families by reflecting on the synodal journey from the perspective of a Catholic in such a family. The experience and resources of the synod reveal three areas relevant to interchurch families: first, being recognised and listened to in different contexts; second, responses arising from ecumenical needs and opportunities; and third, developments arising from the renewed ecclesiology, processes, and outlook of a synodal church.
