Site Conditions of Frequent Crow Roadkill Locations in Morioka
Using past roadkill data from expressways, national roads, prefectural roads, and city roads in Morioka, we analyzed the factors contributing to crow roadkill, which is one of the most frequent bird species involved in roadkill. To analyze trends in the roadkill distribution, we applied a density-based clustering method (HDBSCAN) to identify hotspots, and used GLMM for further insights. The results showed that crow roadkill in Morioka is concentrated around highways and the city center, with a higher occurrence observed in areas closer to roadside tree gaps and residential areas.
