Developing a Rural Health Certificate for Postbaccalaureate Nursing Students: Addressing Population Health and Rural Health Concepts
This article highlights the newly established Rural Health Certificate program at a southeastern public college of nursing, specifically designed for postbaccalaureate nursing students. The program aims to enhance students' competencies in population health and rural health concepts. The need for such a program is underscored by the growing health care disparities faced by rural communities. By equipping students with essential knowledge and skills, the program prepares them to address the unique health challenges in these areas, ultimately contributing to improved health outcomes and the promotion of health equity.
