Application of the Fullwaver system to geothermal exploration: Reaching for alteration and fluid information from the quantification of electrical conductivity processes
Improvements in the distributed acquisition of induced-polarization data enabled geophysicists to image deeper targets. Furthermore, thanks to the development of new models able to describe the electrical conductivity processes, numerous properties of interest for geothermal exploration can be accessed such as alteration, water content, or mineral formation temperature. We present two field works based on Fullwaver system field acquisitions and using the dynamic Stern layer petrophysical model to interpret the data. This combination of the DEEP-ERT-IP equipment methodology with the discrimination of conductivity processes is illustrated for the Mashyuza hydrothermal site in Rwanda, and the quarry of Vieux-Moulin in mainland France.
