The Transitioning Experience of Internationally Educated Nurses from former British Colonial Territories into the Nursing Workforce in the United Kingdom: A Scoping Review Protocol
The transition experience of Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) into the United Kingdom (UK) is increasingly attracting researchers globally. The Equality Act promotes the rights and well-being of all employees at the workplace. However, IEN have reported experiencing, racism, marginalisation, gender discrimination, bullying, harassment or abuse from other staff. An area that is under researched is the transition experience of IEN from former British Colonial Territories (FBCT) which are Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and The Gambia, into the nursing workforce in the UK. A better understanding of the transitioning experience of IEN from FBCT is therefore necessary to better support them. This scoping review will focus on the transition experience of IEN from FBCT into the nursing workforce in the UK.
