Effects of infant formula supplied with medium- and long-chain triacylglycerols and sn -2 palmitate on fecal lipid metabolome and microbiota profiles in healthy term infants: a parallel-controlled study

Infant formula fortified with medium- and long-chain triacylglycerols and sn-2 palmitate showed a comparable fecal lipidomics pattern to breast milk. Significant correlations were observed between fecal lipid and beneficial microbiota such as Bifidobacterium. The results indicated that structured lipids influenced lipid metabolism and infant gut health.
