Amplicon sequencing of anaerobic digester microbial communities following <i>Caldicellulosiruptor bescii</i> pretreatment of wastewater substrates

We report 16S rDNA sequencing of anaerobic digester microbiomes processing primary clarifier sludge, anaerobic digestate, and waste activated sewage with and without biological pretreatment of <i>Caldicellulosiruptor bescii</i>. DNA was extracted from pellet-associated and free-living microhabitats. Amplicon sequencing with Illumina MiSeq was performed targeting the V4 region of 16S rDNA.
