Barriers to the simultaneous implementation of LARG paradigms in supply chains: a two-stage literature review approach

Various problems emerge during the supply chain (SC) stages, such as poor or incorrect demand forecasting, production or distribution delays, and some events that affected the resilience, such as covid-19. Lean, agile, resilient and green (LARG) practices represent effective strategies to address these challenges. Although many studies investigated this paradigm, and despite the development of various supporting tools, their implementation, particularly in an integrated manner, remain difficult to implement in practice. This paper investigates the barriers to integrating LARG practices in SC through a two-stage literature review. First, a bibliometric analysis identifies key research trends and issues related to each LARG dimension. Second, a qualitative content analysis of 11 selected papers focusing on the simultaneous integration of all LARG paradigms leads to the identification of 11 key barriers. The results of this study serve as starting point for future development involving Delphi and interpretive structural model (ISM) approaches.
