SEMANTIC FEATURES OF THE LANGUAGE OF IMAM Al-GHAZALI'S WORKS
Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (1058–1111) is recognized as one of the most influential thinkers of Islamic philosophy and Sufi intellectual tradition. His works such as Ihya Ulum al-Din, Kimyoyi Saadat, and Mukashafat al-Qulub contain not only religious and ethical teachings but also complex linguistic and semantic structures. The language of these works demonstrates a multilayered semantic system based on mystical terminology, metaphorical expressions, and contextual meanings. This article analyzes the semantic features of Imam al-Ghazali’s works by examining key conceptual terms, symbolic expressions, contextual semantic shifts, and the relationship between apparent and hidden meanings. The research reveals that Ghazali constructs a semantic network of interconnected spiritual concepts that reflect the stages of moral and spiritual development.
