Harmonic Mitigation Methods Applied to Wind Power Plants
Harmonic emissions and the associated current flows within wind power plants (WPPs) inevitably lead to heat generation and accelerate the aging of electrical equipment. Especially, in the presence of resonance, harmonic voltage and current may be amplified to detrimental levels. Various harmonic-mitigation techniques have been developed for WPPs to address harmonic distortion. In this paper, these harmonic-mitigation methods are summarized and classified, aiming at presenting a comprehensive survey on harmonic mitigation in WPPs for researchers.
