Community Walk : participatory version
Performance Walk with Interconnected BodiesIn Community Walk, it is the garments that set the framework. In pairs, you move out into the landscape—physically connected by a specially designed costume created by the playful artist Charlotte Østergaard. She guides you in exploring and challenging the costume together. The costume creates a new relation between you, shaping how you move forward. You form each other’s movements in a “dance” between balance and displacement. You can stretch and pull, wrap yourselves in and out, and allow yourselves to be caught by the landscape. Trees, lampposts, and everything you encounter along the way call out to be engaged by you.You move through the landscape as one collective organism—listening, sensing, and attentive. Community Walk interweaves textile, body, and surroundings, creating new connections—both between you and with the places you move through.
