ECR Spotlight – Sergio Rossoni
ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Sergio Rossoni is an author on ‘ Predation via motion parallax in one of two gleaning insects’, published in JEB. Sergio conducted the research described in this article while a Doctoral researcher in Prof. Paloma Gonzalez-Bellido's lab at Department of Zoology, University of Cambridge, UK. Sergio is now a Postdoctoral research fellow in the lab of Dr Beth Nicholls at Department of Ecology and Evolution, School of Life Sciences, University of Sussex, UK, investigating how insects gather information about food sources in their environment, how this information can be manipulated, and how this shapes the co-evolution of both consumers (e.g. predator, pollinator) and food sources (e.g. prey, plant).
