Monitoring the Migrations of Wild Snake River Spring/Summer Chinook Salmon Juveniles: Survival and Timing, 2025
From late summer 2024 to mid-2025, we continued a multiyear research project to monitor the migration behavior and survival of wild juvenile spring/summer Chinook salmon Oncorhynchus tshawytscha in the Snake River Basin of Idaho. Wild parr were collected in natal tributaries, implanted with passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags, and released near their respective collection sites. In this report, we present data and analyses from detections of fish tagged in summer 2024 and monitored through spring 2025.
