First person – Adesh Vaidya

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Adesh Vaidya is first author on ‘ Interplay between nuclear survivin and the PRC2 complex and its impact on H3K27me3-directed transcriptional repression’, published in JCS. Adesh conducted the research described in this article while a PhD Student in Dr Sally Wheatley's lab at University of Nottingham, School of Life Sciences, Medical School, Nottingham, UK. His research interests centre on molecular and epigenetic mechanisms driving cancer cell survival, with a focus on survivin as a therapeutic target.
