The Factors affecting acquiring vocabulary and pronunciation on the basis of different language versions of video games

This paper explores the role of video games as a significant medium for English language acquisition outside the formal classroom setting, specifically focusing on vocabulary and pronunciation. In the digital era, traditional teaching methods are increasingly supplemented by "extramural" activities, where learners engage with authentic language input through hobbies. The study examines various methods of lexical acquisition, the importance of pronunciation accuracy, and the pivotal role of motivation in self-directed learning. Furthermore, it provides a historical and structural classification of video games, analyzing how different localization levels ranging from full dubbing to original audio with subtitles impact the transition from language input to intake. By synthesizing linguistic theories with game studies, the research highlights how the interactive and context-specific nature of modern gaming promotes effective and autonomous language development.
