The genome sequence of a greenbottle fly, Lucilia caesar (Linnaeus, 1758) (Diptera: Calliphoridae)

<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual male <ns3:italic>Lucilia caesar</ns3:italic> (greenbottle fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Calliphoridae). The genome sequence has a total length of 615.55 megabases. Most of the assembly (88.01%) is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.94 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
