THE ADVANTAGES OF COMPUTER LITERACY ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF THE LEARNERS

The integration of computer literacy into educational practices has become essential for enhancing learners' academic performance. This study explores how computer literacy facilitates access to vast digital resources, improves learning efficiency, and fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, it examines the role of digital tools in promoting communication, collaboration, and self-directed learning. Findings indicate that learners proficient in computer skills can navigate online platforms, conduct research effectively, and engage with interactive educational software, leading to improved academic outcomes. The study underscores the importance of incorporating computer literacy programs in curricula to prepare learners for both academic success and future digital demands. Computer-literate learners can efficiently use the internet, digital libraries, and educational software to access a vast amount of information. This improves their research skills and helps them complete assignments and projects with updated and credible sources. Using computers allows learners to utilize tools like word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation software. This increases productivity, helps organize study materials, and streamlines tasks like note taking, data analysis, and report writing. Many computer applications educational learning. For example, simulations, coding exercises, and educational games require learners to think critically, make decisions, and solve problems systematically. Computer literacy enables learners to communicate effectively with teachers and peers through emails, forums, or collaborative platforms like Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. This facilitates group work, discussion, and feedback sharing. Many schools and universities now conduct online tests, quizzes, and assignments. Learners who are computer literate can navigate these platforms smoothly, improving their performance and reducing stress. Being computer-literate encourages independent learning. Learners can take online courses, watch educational videos, and participate in virtual workshops, enhancing their knowledge beyond the classroom. Interactive learning tools, multimedia content, and gamified education platforms make learning more engaging and enjoyable, increasing motivation and participation, which positively affects academic performance. In the contemporary digital era, computer literacy has emerged as an essential skill for academic success. This research delves into the intricate relationship between computer literacy and academic performance, examining the extent to which computer proficiency contributes to enhanced learning outcomes. A comprehensive review of empirical studies reveals a consistent positive correlation between computer literacy and academic achievement. Students with higher levels of computer literacy demonstrate superior abilities in accessing and processing information, engaging in effective communication, and participating in collaborative learning activities. These findings underscore the crucial role of computer literacy in fostering academic excellence.
