Flexible Optically Transparent Scattering Metasurface for Multi‐Spectral Camouflage via Scalable Laser‐Etching‐Transfer Hybrid Fabrication

ABSTRACT With the growing integration of multispectral detection technologies, achieving camouflage across diverse detection bands has become pivotal. Metasurfaces hold significant potential in this field, yet substantial challenges remain regarding compatibility across broadband spectral ranges and large‐scale facile fabrication. Herein, a facile fabrication strategy is proposed, which integrates femtosecond laser direct writing (FsLDW) with transfer printing to fabricate a flexible, optically transparent, large‐scale scattering metasurface capable of multispectral camouflage. The metasurface comprises a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate capped with a hyperbolic metamaterial layer (MgF 2 /Ag/MgF 2 ). It achieves ultra‐low specular reflectance (R S,1‐2 µm = 0.02, R S,3‐14 µm = 0.10) while maintaining high integral reflectance (R I,1‐2 µm = 0.98, R I,3‐14 µm = 0.90) and visible transparency (44 %). Notably, the metasurface exhibits suppressed specular reflection at critical lidar wavelengths (R S,1.06 µm = 0.01, R S,1.55 µm = 0.03 and R S,10.6 µm = 0.09), thereby effectively attenuating retro‐reflective signals. Visible and infrared demonstrations reveal that the fabricated metasurface possesses good visible transmittance and excellent infrared camouflage performance. Under 1550 nm laser irradiation and external heat source, the fabricated metasurface shows robust broadband scattering performance. It also presents excellent mechanical durability, which is confirmed through cyclic bending tests. This work provides new ideas for the application of multispectral camouflage in complex real‐world environments.
