Artificial intelligence for strategic procurement in energy firms: a modeling framework
Introduction: Procurement has become a strategic function in the energy and electricity sector due to volatile commodity prices, regulatory pressures, complex supply chains, and increasing digitalization. While artificial intelligence (AI) offers significant opportunities, its benefits depend on strategic alignment. This study examines how artificial intelligence can be strategically integrated into procurement functions of major energy companies to generate sustainable competitive advantage.
